The International Institute for Active Ageing (iiaa) develop highly effective, multi-award-winning skin care products and supplements that are available via skin care salons across the UK.
Many of the products include active ingredients, and these products are exclusively available as part of the eventis skin care programme curated by skin care professionals at partner salons.
Initially, the iiaa asked us to design and develop an app to facilitate their in-salon consultation programme, along with an accompanying consumer app to manage their customers’ skin care journey, as well as a private salon portal.
It’s common for businesses to employ disparate methods of managing essential data; often, the larger the organisation, the more variants in data management we find.
This was indeed the situation with the iiaa. We realised that the data held within the business, which we’d need to utilise for the new apps and portal to function, wasn’t accessible in its current state.
Data was stored in multiple formats on multiple platforms, administered both by hand and digitally. We proposed to consolidate infrastructure to manage and distribute the data for all business functions and act as a single source of truth.
A large-scale business transformation project like this required an in-depth understanding of all processes within the organisation; therefore, a detailed 3-month discovery phase involving key stakeholders was undertaken to uncover a complete picture of what, where and how the data was collated and stored.
From there, our data architects mapped out a new digital infrastructure to bring this expansive network of systems together into one unifying ecosystem. Radiiaance, the new data centre, sits at the heart of the iiaa’s data environment and interfaces with the business functions across the organisation.
